This Liga Privada Unico Serie Dirty Rat Cigar has been my go to for a few weeks. I like that it is consistent and low maintenance. Not overly complex, but also not boring. It features a dark chocolate mottled wrapper with a very firm oily feel, minimal veins, tight invisible seams, flat pig tail cap and a faint chocolate hay aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with the a large amounts of smoke both from the draw and off the foot. Flavors are medium bodied with a slightly bitter deep earth and bit of a pepper zing through the finish.
The first third burns fairly quickly with the flavors going to a not bitter but not sweet either, deep earth and black coffee on the draw with a smooth earthy deep finish. Hitting the 1/2 way point the still perfect draw is joined by a dry chocolate and a bigger pepper zing washing through the long finish. At the end the burn slowed as the stick progressed, keeping the same flavors in the last bit.
Overall, a very good smoke!
