The Atabey cigar in Divinos size.
This 4 2/5 by 50 sized cigar has a seamless, oily, golden brown wrapper with smells of nuts, wood, and a hint of a floral aroma. The wrapper, binder, and filler are a secretive blend giving this cigar a level of intrigue. The initial draw is smooth and rich although a bit tight. The immediate flavors on the first draw were of nuts, hickory and a slight hint of floral notes. Towards the end of the first quarter, the draw really opened up producing a medium bodied smoke.
Around the second quarter of the smoke, the floral notes disappear and are replaced by a savory, salty earthiness, a hint of spice and rich woodsiness. With the spice becoming more present as the cigar is smoked, the incredibly smooth draw keeps this cigar from ever getting any higher than a medium body. Though the flavors slightly change throughout the smoking experience, the primary flavors of nuts, spice and wood are richly present throughout the cigar until its finish. As for the construction of the cigar, it was absolutely flawless.
The burn was even throughout the entirety of the cigar and the ash hung on causing the need to ash it to be very little. Overall, The Atabey Divinos has a quality and craft to its beauty, flavor and construction that makes it truly a unique experience.

Matt,
This looks like a smoke that I would definitely enjoy. As it stands now, “A. Fuente Gran Reserva” is my go to smoke and from your review of this smoke I think that I may very well have a new smoke of choice!
